Gen Puni
Founder, RecTrain Services Limited and EvolveWithGen

Gen Puni is a globally recognised HR professional, therapeutic counsellor, coach and business leader committed to nurturing personal growth and organisational transformation. With over 15 years of cross-industry experience in human resource operations, coaching and counselling, she leads both RecTrain Services Limited and EvolveWithGen, combining corporate expertise with deep human insight.

Her work spans Africa, the UK and beyond. As a Chartered Member of the CIPD UK, BACP UK and the Ghana Psychology Council, Gen brings professionalism and heart to every interaction. Whether guiding senior leaders, supporting business growth, or counselling individuals through life’s challenges, she ensures her approach is grounded in empathy, intentionality and sustainable impact.

A Multi-Faceted Leader Committed to Growth and Healing

Gen’s work is as broad as it is impactful. As a counsellor and coach, she supports clients across all stages of life, creating safe and inclusive spaces for mental, emotional and spiritual development. As an HR expert and corporate consultant, she advises businesses on leadership, engagement, productivity and mental wellbeing in the workplace.

She is also a certified trainer and speaker who has contributed to global HR forums and mentoring programmes. Her leadership style is collaborative and focused on empowering others to thrive—whether that’s through one-to-one sessions, team development or cross-sector partnerships.

Her accolades reflect this dedication. Gen has been recognised with the International Businesswoman Award (Women4Africa), featured as a “Game Changer” by Obaasema Magazine, and profiled by the Business & Financial Times for redefining HR leadership. Her nomination for the GUBA “Efie Ne Fie” Award speaks to her continued influence across the diaspora.

A DiNN Journey Rooted in Action

Gen joined the Do it Now Now community through the Build, Hustle, Grow programme, which she describes as a turning point for both her HR and counselling businesses. The experience equipped her with practical tools to innovate operations and integrate technology more strategically.

Now, as a member of DiNN’s Community Advisory Board, she contributes expertise in HR systems, coaching, stakeholder engagement and business operations. She understands the importance of aligning professional practice with purpose and works alongside the team to expand DiNN’s reach and relevance in the communities it serves.

Her technical knowledge is balanced by a people-first approach. Gen is particularly invested in making sure equity and access are embedded in all areas of DiNN’s work, from programme design to partnership development.

Driving Equity, Encouraging Empowerment

Gen believes in evolving with purpose. She is driven by a commitment to intentional action, shared growth and collective empowerment. Through her roles in business, therapy and advisory, she continues to support initiatives that create meaningful pathways for personal and professional transformation.

She also believes in building bridges between communities, supporting collaboration across sectors, cultures and identities. Her work with DiNN is aligned with that vision, ensuring that Black-led organisations receive not only access but also the trust, feedback and encouragement needed to scale their impact.

Her legacy is already being written through the lives and businesses she helps shape. She is passionate about giving back through volunteering, mentoring and community support, and remains focused on creating ripple effects that continue long after a session ends.

A Final Word

“Don’t let opportunities pass you by. Be intentional, know your goals, stay open to feedback and remember, we’re all working toward one cause: impact. Everyone has something valuable to give.”

About the Community Advisory Board at Do it Now Now

At Do it Now Now, we empower Black people with the skills, tools, and resources they need to lead, influence, and create the future, for themselves and their communities. Our values are clear: We are ambitious. We believe in community. We build trust.

The Community Advisory Board plays a central role in shaping how we deliver on our mission. Made up of individuals who have taken part in our programmes, the board brings lived experience, insight and accountability to the heart of our work. Members understand the journey of Black-led charities and social enterprises and use that knowledge to guide our programme design and resource development.

Through quarterly meetings, the Advisory Board co-produces aspects of DiNN’s strategy, research priorities, and storytelling. Members provide valuable feedback, healthy challenge and forward-thinking recommendations, ensuring that our work remains community-led, impact-driven, and aligned with our vision of systemic equity.

Together, we are building stronger foundations for the next generation of Black leaders.
