Farah Mohammoud is Championing Creative Expression and Youth Empowerment

Farah Mohammoud
Founder, You Press

Farah Mohammoud is a social entrepreneur and the founder of You Press, a London-based social enterprise amplifying the voices of underrepresented young creatives. With over a decade of experience in youth development, mentorship and social impact, Farah has transformed what began as a grassroots campaign into a dynamic platform for creative empowerment and professional growth.

His work sits at the intersection of entrepreneurship, storytelling and social change. Through You Press, Farah continues to provide young people with the tools, networks and opportunities they need to succeed in the creative industries. As a member of the Do it Now Now Community Advisory Board, he brings deep sector knowledge, lived experience and a powerful vision for equity in the arts and entrepreneurship.

Creating Space for Young Voices to Thrive

Growing up in East London, Farah witnessed the systemic barriers faced by young people from marginalised backgrounds. These early experiences shaped his commitment to challenging inequality and led to the creation of You Press. His goal was simple but urgent: to offer safe, creative spaces where young people could express themselves, develop leadership skills and turn their passions into purpose-driven careers.

Through initiatives like ASPIRE and The Collective, You Press has become a launchpad for emerging artists, musicians, writers and change-makers. Under Farah’s leadership, the organisation continues to scale, building bridges between community needs and creative opportunities. He remains focused on creating paid work, fostering collaboration and ensuring that underrepresented talent is not only seen but celebrated.

A Shared Mission with DiNN

Farah’s alignment with Do it Now Now is rooted in shared values. Both organisations prioritise community-led innovation, economic empowerment and the amplification of Black voices. His experience engaging diverse stakeholders, managing social impact programmes and navigating the funding landscape brings valuable strategic insight to the Advisory Board.

He recognises DiNN as a vital part of the ecosystem, offering practical support that goes beyond surface-level solutions. From business education to community-building, DiNN’s work reflects Farah’s own commitment to long-term empowerment. As a board member, he contributes knowledge from the creative sector and a grounded understanding of what it takes to grow sustainable, inclusive initiatives.

Building Pathways to Equity and Impact

Farah brings a rare combination of entrepreneurial resilience and community-centred thinking. He has co-designed projects that support young people with disabilities, developed functional learning initiatives for parents, and led programmes internationally. His leadership style is collaborative, empathetic and action-oriented.

He believes that community power is the foundation for lasting change. His work with You Press demonstrates how creativity can serve as both an outlet and a career path for young people. By focusing on storytelling, skill-building and opportunity creation, he is reshaping what leadership looks like in the social enterprise space.

Farah’s approach to impact is clear: create platforms that centre lived experience, invest in growth that lasts, and build networks that extend far beyond individual programmes.

A Final Word

“Take action and be intentional. Whether you’re a creative, a professional or a community advocate, you have something valuable to offer. By supporting DiNN’s mission, you become part of a growing movement that is creating lasting change from the ground up.”

About the Community Advisory Board at Do it Now Now

At Do it Now Now, we empower Black people with the skills, tools, and resources they need to lead, influence, and create the future, for themselves and their communities. Our values are clear: We are ambitious. We believe in community. We build trust.

The Community Advisory Board plays a central role in shaping how we deliver on our mission. Made up of individuals who have taken part in our programmes, the board brings lived experience, insight and accountability to the heart of our work. Members understand the journey of Black-led charities and social enterprises and use that knowledge to guide our programme design and resource development.

Through quarterly meetings, the Advisory Board co-produces aspects of DiNN’s strategy, research priorities, and storytelling. Members provide valuable feedback, healthy challenge and forward-thinking recommendations, ensuring that our work remains community-led, impact-driven, and aligned with our vision of systemic equity.

Together, we are building stronger foundations for the next generation of Black leaders.
