Mission & Core Focus
STEMspiration has a clear mission focused on supporting international women in STEM and early career researchers, especially those navigating underrepresentation, confidence barriers, lack of information, and limited professional support. The initiative is strongly rooted in lived experience and uses storytelling, mentoring, professional networking, and events as its core methods.
Initiative Key Achievement
The initiative has achieved significant milestones, most notably co-creating the East Midlands Early-Career Professionals Networking Event with ELRIG, the first of its kind to address professional loneliness for researchers in drug discovery. They have supported over 20 Black and mixed-Black researchers across the Midlands, including undergraduates and post-PhD scientists.
