About

Dr Oghale Ayetuoma is a Senior Lecturer in Human Resource Management and Work Futures at the University of Bristol. Her work focuses on talent management, global talent management, strategic human resource management, international human resource management, and leadership, with a particular interest in improving student engagement and the teaching and learning experience in higher education. Drawing on experience across both the public and private sectors, her work combines academic insight with practical perspectives on leadership, people management, and organisational development.

Alongside her academic role, she contributes to the work of the Society of Black Academics, where she supports guest services and event coordination, helping to strengthen professional engagement and community-building initiatives across the higher education sector.

What’s the most exciting part of being named a DiNN Highly Commendable for you or your organisation?

One of the most exciting aspects of receiving this recognition for the Society of Black Academics is that it represents acknowledgment of six years of hard work, commitment, and community-driven impact, despite operating for much of that journey without formal recognition or sustained external support. Over the last six years, we have not charged membership fees or event registration fees, as accessibility and inclusion have always been central to our mission. During this period, we have organized six national and international conferences, delivered more than a dozen workshops and seminars, and led several initiatives supporting students and early-career scholars at master’s and PhD levels.

Everything we do is driven voluntarily, without financial compensation, but through a shared passion for creating meaningful change and strengthening opportunities for Black academics. For that reason, this recognition carries deep significance. It is a reminder that the work we are doing extends beyond ourselves and contributes to future generations of scholars and professionals. Being recognized by an organization such as Do It Now Now makes this especially meaningful, given its strong commitment to impact, empowerment, and community development.
