About
Romanah Buchanan is an award-winning creative entrepreneur, artistic director, choreographer, and speaker, widely recognised for her leadership, innovation, and impact across the arts, education, and entrepreneurship.
Her entrepreneurial journey began at just 17, when she co-founded Eloquent Dance, a pioneering creative organisation that has since grown into a multi-branch ecosystem spanning dance, education, talent, and creative spaces. Under her leadership, Eloquent was honoured with the prestigious Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service, the highest recognition for community organisations in the UK.
As the Creative Director of Eloquent Dance, Romanah has established the company as a leader in fusing Hip Hop, Contemporary, and Praise Dance into powerful works of performance, empowerment, and worship. Alongside her work with Eloquent, she is an in-demand choreographer and creative director, working across live shows, music videos, and productions. Her portfolio includes collaborations with emerging and established artists, particularly within the UK gospel music scene, where she has become known for shaping movement that brings music and worship to life on stage.
What’s the most exciting part of being a DiNN One To Watch for you or your organisation?
The most exciting part is the visibility and connections that come with it. Eloquent has spent the last 12 years creating opportunities for young people through dance, creativity and culture, particularly for those who have traditionally been underrepresented in the arts. Being recognised as a DiNN One to Watch gives us a platform to tell that story more widely, build meaningful relationships with other founders and leaders, and accelerate our vision of developing the next generation of creative entrepreneurs and cultural leaders. It's not just recognition of the journey so far, I'd say its also fuel for what's next.
