Community and Platform Manager (Employee role)​

Title: Community and Platform Manager
Employment Status: Full-Time
Salary: £28,000
Location: Tottenham Hale (office opening soon), otherwise Remote, London.

Do it Now Now is in an exciting period of growth, and we’re looking for someone with an entrepreneurial attitude and attention to detail to lead our Community. We work across a number of projects, each seeking to significantly improve the lives of Black people across the UK and in Africa; our online platform unifies those projects and initiatives. Our initiatives: 
 
  • Common Call: a community of leaders in social enterprises and charities, this programme seeks to offer funding opportunities and skill development for the Black community. 
  • Afritech XYZ: a community of founders and entrepreneurs in Africa working on tech solutions to local problems.
  • My Moon Landing: a community of Black women, LGBTQ+, and non-binary people, MML offers support through events and mentorship.
  • Do it Now Now HQ: the hub for our reports, news, and success stories of our key programmes. 
  • Black and Good: a community of Black entrepreneurs and founders in the UK, this programme offers support through online training and events. 
  • Voltage Revolution: a community of 18-24 year olds. This community is served by online training programmes and events designed to help young people gain employability skills and ultimately work within the tech and creative industries.

As a Community Manager, you will be responsible for the Community Member experience. 

This includes:
  • Ensuring we are meeting our member’s needs and our standards and targets on member experience satisfaction.
  • Building a welcoming and collaborative community environment amongst our members through events and building relationships between members
  • Providing feedback on programming types and evaluating community events based on attendance, satisfaction, and impact to the team
  • Consistently celebrate members’ successes and milestones through gifts and notes.
  • Distribute all necessary info to promote the event including posting of weekly events bulletins and individual event posts
  • Make 1-2-1 introductions between members and encourage them to attend events and engage together
  • Be active on the community platform to engage members
  • Know and explain our policies and procedures 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Be accountable for member retention and overall member satisfaction. 
  • Encourage and manager conversions for reviews on platforms like Trustpilot
  • Lead inductions for new members  and mixers to continually engage members with each other
  • Manage a Community Ambassador Programme and Peer-support offering 
  • Develop new offerings in response to the needs of individual community members
  • Implement a 90-day user journey for community members and track their progress
  • Report findings from the needs of the community members to other team members so that our work externally can be reflective of our own community
  • Provide input to monthly, quarterly and yearly budgets. 

Essential Experience:
  • Customer service experience required. 
  • Experience working with a Profit and Loss schedule. 
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills, project management, and business operations experience.

Safeguarding: we are focused on ensuring our beneficiaries throughout all our programs are well supported and that safeguarding measures are put in place throughout all we do. Safer recruitment is a part of our overarching safeguarding policy. All volunteers, freelancers and staff are required to engage in safeguarding training before they start their work with us. Our processes are clearly set out and we make it everybody’s business to report issues as they see them.
